Florida Thief Popped after Leaving Phone Behind
A Florida man is sitting in a cell because he lost his cell — at a bar he went to after burglarizing a nearby home.
The manager of a joint called The Outpost found the phone during a routine late-night cleanup and decided to check it to get it back to its owner. The first thing he stumbled across was a long Facebook messenger conversation about a potential drug deal, so he called cops instead of the number on the phone — which had been reported stolen a few days before.
Officers traced the Facebook account to Jacob Jennings Dixon, and found he was also in possession of other items taken in the same robbery. Dixon admitted he was trying to trade the stolen items from the burglary for illegal narcotics, but blamed his girlfriend, Bethanie Lynn Pearman, for the actual heist
